Our Races

We have two public running events each year, the Fell ‘Em Doon Woodland 10K or 5 Miler in the summer, and our Festive 5K near Christmas. Places sell out very quickly due to the fantastic route through the Ashington Community Woods, the support you will get along the way and of course the goody bag and medal at the end.

On July 30th, the club held its annual ‘Fell ‘em Doon’ 5m race. The race was a resounding success with many of the club members volunteering to make the event safe for all those running, many of whom were from the club.

As has been customary the volunteers and competitors were asked to bring donation for the local foodbanks and to make/buy cakes to raise money for charity. Once again, the club were outstanding in their generosity raising £235.90 from the sale of the cakes. This money will be donated to charity later in the year.

Additionally, a large donation of food was delivered to Ashington Life Centre, again showing the kind hearts of those who attended the event.
