Base Details

AHRC is based at Ashington Rugby Club. Our location gives us access to training  facilities and lots of secure outdoor space

Days & Times

We meet 3 times a week and have various sessions on offer aimed at all abilities from non runners to the more experienced runner, such as run walk through to more faster paced groups, we also offer effort sessions to improve speed and endurance.

Club regular sessions are:

Tuesday Run & Run/Walk Groups or Effort Session – 6.30pm Rugby Club

Thursday Run & Run/Walk Groups/Hill training or endurance run – 6.30pm Rugby Club

Friday Run Group – 6.30pm (usually meeting at Fox Cover car park)

Run & Run/Walk Groups

Tuesday run groups offer either  Group 1 (8.30-10 minute miles), Group 2 (10-11 minute miles), Group 3 (11-12 minute miles), Group 4 (12-13 minute miles) or Run/Walk for beginners. You can choose which group you feel comfortable with, and as you progress can move into another group when you feel ready.

There are also two groups for effort sessions, all focusing on speed work for 5 and 10 km races.  Effort sessions are suitable for all, and accommodate faster than our group 1 pace plus all other paces.

Thursday offers run & run/walk as above, also with the options of hill training and speed endurance.

See home page for dates and location.

Friday run group offers a social 5 mile run (run/walk not available on Fridays), usually from the Fox cover pub carpark.

All effort sessions vary, but are developed to improve speed, ability and endurance.

Juniors from age 12+ may attend the Tuesday effort session, subject to a parent/guardian being present.
